Fourteen shops. Fifty-two staff. I'm not behind the chair in any of them — and that took a lot longer to work out than it should have.

Still Running Shops
Jay Adams
The Short Version

Built From
Inside The Chair.

I'm not a business coach who read a book and decided to teach. I started behind the chair like everyone else and made every mistake going — undercharging, hiring badly, working six days and calling it commitment.

The shop got busy long before it got profitable. Fully booked, on my feet twelve hours a day, and still the only person in the building who could make a decision.

What changed it wasn't motivation. It was structure — pricing that held, a rebook system that worked without me chasing it, and a team that stayed. Fourteen shops later I'm in none of them day to day.

Now I do the same thing for other owners, and run my own shops while I do it. That's the whole pitch: I'm still in it.

“Busy Is A
Poverty Metric.” A full diary and an empty bank account is the most common thing I see. It isn't a skill problem — you already cut well. It's a structure problem, and structure is fixable.
The Documentary Series

The Barber
Movement.

Before any of the business stuff, I made a barber documentary series — following real barbers through real shops, shot across Australia and Prague. Still the work I'm proudest of.

Where I Post

Mostly On Instagram.

Shop numbers, hiring, pricing, and the parts of running barbershops nobody puts on a highlight reel. New wins go up there before they go anywhere else.

If You Run A Shop

Still The Bottleneck
In Your Own Business?

I run a 90-day mentorship for barbershop owners doing decent numbers who are still the reason the place works. It's me, in your business, for 90 days.
